FARMERS' UNION.
TIMAItU BRANCH. By Telegraph —Press Association. Timarii. Saturday. At the Farmers' Union executive meeting to-day the chairman spoke of the need for more frequent steam service between Timarii and Auckland, which was now fortnightly. The committee decided to make representations to the Union Company. They approved of the chairman's suggestion regarding statistics, i.e., that acreage in crops he ascertained by ]>ost. Those concerned could estimate the average yield. Regarding the Sale of l'oisons Hill it was resolved that no restrictions should be put on sheep dips and sprays. The Seeds Sale Hill was also discussed, and declared to be useless in its present form. It was decided to urge that the Rill be nob proceeded with until the Farmers' Unions and the A. and P. Societies had had an' opportunity to consider the matter. It was al-o resolved to ask tile Minister for Agriculture to establish, as soon as possible. an experimental farm, say, of 051) acres, in South Canterbury.
