AUSTRALIAN CADETS
DEPARTURE FROM LONDON. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London. Septembe'r 1. The Australian cadets marched to Victoria station. While passing the Commonwealth offices Sir George Reid inspected tlieni, and Major Wynne presented Sir George Reid with a album containing photographs of scenes and incidents of the visit. The cadets saluted the Lord Mayor at the Mansion House. Sir George Reid sent a message to the cadets stating that it was a source of the utmost pleasure to inspect them. Their conduct, from first to last, had been of the best. Though young they were already crowned with the attributes of coinage, quickness am! intelligence, with a surprising degree of discipline. which was as essential in peace as in war. lie congratulated them on (lie splendid way they represented young Australia in the Motherland. The Lord Mayor telegraphed congratulations on the discipline shown, and wished them a pleasant voyage. As the Demosthenes was leaving the dock a messenger brought Major Wynne a letter, wherein the Colonial Office stated that the King approved of the Coronation medal being given to each member of the Commonwealth cadet, contingent. The medals will hi? forwarded to Lord Dcnmari in a few weeks for presentation in Australia. The announcement was received with tumultuous cheering.
