DISTRICT NEWS.
WAITARA ROAD. (From Our Own Correspondent). It is with regret that I have to report the dentil of Mr. Fred. Old, of Sentry Hill. The deceased was only a young man, and he died suddenly on their farm at Manaia. The funeral took place last Sunday, and was followed to his last resting place in the Huirangi cemetery by a large crowd of followers. Much sympathy will be extended towards Mr. and Mrs. Old and family in their sad bereavement. The burial service at the grave was read by Mr. Robt. Wells, and several beautiful wreaths were placed upon the coffin. The annual meeting of the Waitara Dairy Co takes place on Wednesday next, and although the balance-sheet has not yet been issued to suppliers, 1 have good reason to believe that it will be one of the best issued by the company. At any rate, if reports arc anything to go by! T thing the results should establish a record for the company. ' The supply of milk is coming in well, 1 a marked increase' being shown at the I Kelly road creamery, at which place the ! directors made several improvements during the slack season. The factory and creamery are now up-to-day. run by good and energetie men, and it is now for the individual suppliel [ to see that he supplies milk both clean and sweet, a-nd the results during the i coming year will no doubt be second to none.
