MINING
«. TELLI.IUDES PROPRIETARY CO. The mint' manager's report for the week ending August 26 k as follows: (fordon —The level going north of the Oeorge hxle lms been advanced seventeen feet from the main low-level crosscut. The lode at pre-eut U divided by a band of country, rock two feet in thick- j ness. The hanging wall portion of the reef is apparently bearing to the castward, and does not carry such good stone as the footwall portion. The latter, which is two feet in. thickness, is responsible for some good telluride ore. I intend to leave this portion of the lode standing for some distance, and then break it down with hand steel, my object being to keep the ore as clean a3 possible before putting it into the hopper. I am in hopes of having this level connected with air and wa.ter pipes for the machine drill by the end of next week, and we will then resume driving operations in the main crosscut to intersect Corjbett's reef. Volunteer. The main low level in this section has been extended six feet for the week. The country is still of a broken character, and water is now ui.i/k- ---' iiig in the face, :but what this will lead to remains for further development to reveal.
