RAHOTU. RAHOTU DAIRY COMPANY. (From Our Own Correspondent). The annual meeting of the Kahotu Dairy Co. was held at the Rahotu factory on Friday. There was a full attendance of suppliers. Mr. A. Chapman, chairman of directors, presided. Prior to the annual meeting an extraordinary meeting was held to consider special resolutions re increasing the share capital by doubling the amount of shares' and also to decide as to whether the number of directors should be increased! to seven. Little progress was made, and ultimately it was decided to go on with the annual meeting when perhaps further light would be thrown on the necessity for such charges. The chairman, in presenting the report and balance-sheet, regretted that better prices had not been obtained last veftr, but pointed out that the outlook* woa particularly bright for the coining season. Various details of management were discussed. Owing to- three directors having resigned and the other two- retiring by rotation it was necessary to elect the full directorate. The following were | nominated: Messrs. G. Gibson, N. King, • A. F. Chapman, T. Willcox, G. R. Tylee, W. 0. Green, W. Duggan and H. Hopkins, and the first five were returned. A motion was brought forward re establishing a co-operative store in connection, with the factory, but was withdrawn. Some discussion took place as to the advisability of starting a cooperative store separate from the factory, but this was held over also for the present, but will probably be brought forward at a later date. The extraordinary meeting was then resumed, and after discussion the resolution re doubling share capital was vetoed. Shareholders, however, were of opinion that it was advisable to increase the capital, and it was ultimately resolved tht %d .per lb. should fbe deducted from butter-fat supplied during the seaI son by each supplier, who will he allotted fully paid-up shares equivalent I to the actual cash deducted. It was also resolved that the number of directors should be increased to seven. A meeting will be held to confirm the above resolutions on September 16. The meeting altogether fasted fully three hours, and was not concluded at the factory as there was considerable discussion throughout the evening among various group* of suppliers. A meeting of directors was hold subsequently at which Mr. A. Chapman was re-elected chairman. Six applications for the position of manager were received, and Mr. Neilson, of Okoiawa, was, appointed to the position. ~ It is reported that Mr. W. Du«<Mn has disposed of his property on ° "the Opourapa road at a fair figure. At the first meeting of directors of the Rahotu Dairy Co. Mr. A. Chapman, who had been re-elected chairman, tendered his resignation' as chairman and director. Acceptance has been deferred with a hope that he may re-consider it. It is stated that the cause of his action was a disagreement with some of the other directors re the appointment of a manager. The local school is closed down for a fortnight owing to the prevalence of measles. It is reported that the Anglican Bishop ctf Auckland will visit Rahotu next month and hold a confirmation service^ % meeting of the Rahotu Athletic Club was held on Saturday night, when the programme was revised and prizemoney considerably increased. Axemen are .particularly well catered for, and the prize-money for the big event, the Axemen's Oup, has been increased to £ls, of which the winner will receive £l2. Other events have been increased in proportion. In the sawing events a single sawing handicap has been added. Cyclists and athletes aire also well catered for, whilst several novelties have been included on the programme. The meeting wilt, as usual, be held on New Year's Day.
