PULP MILLS ENDANGERED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 28, 1.5 a.m. St. Johns (Newfoundland), Aug. 27. An immense forest fire is threatening the pulp mills in the Exploit River district. The workmen employed by the Harmsworth mills are fire-fighting. A huge area of the country is threatened. Later. The wind veering saved the pulp mills at Bishop's Falls, but enormous destruction was done to forest wealth.
