N.S.W. PARLIAMENT
IS THIS POLITICS? By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, August 26. Mr. Wade has stated that the Government and Mr. Willis will be given an early opportunity of justifying Thursday's action. This is understood to 1 mean that the legality of the Speaker's appointment will be tested in the courts by a member defying the Speaker, and then if, acting on the Speaker's orders, the Sergeant-at-Arms touches the member, he will take proceedings for technical assault. THE ELECTION VALID. Received 28, 1.5 a.m. Sydney, August 27. Mr. Holman states that he has not a scintilla of doubt as to the validity of Mr. Willis' election as Speaker, and is convinced that Mr. Wade would have done exactly the same under the circumstances.
