BOXING.

A CRITICISM DISLTKED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Friday. The New Zealand Boxing Council has received a letter from the Northern Association regarding a report published in an Auckland paper, which was telegraphed through the Dominion, refleeting on the management of the council. The letter stated that the report was a garbled version of the proceedings. and was apparently furnished by a member of the committee, whose object was to cause friction between the council and the association.

The New Plymouth Association protested against the selection of Hagerty to represent the Dominion in Brisbane in preference to Maxwell. The council lias decided that, as the selection committee had a free hand in the selection of the representatives, it is unable to interfere.
