Atwood, who is attempting a flight from St. Louis to Boston, reached a point '134 miles distant, but his aeroplane caught in a tree as he was descending. A PLUCKY FEAT. London, August 24. While aeroplaning over Laffan's Plain Mr. Cody's petrol tank burst from the fastenings. The aviator, with his right hand, prevented it falling, and steered left-handed for twenty miles, when he landed safely.
