Frewin has retired from the game so as to give other players a chance of a game. "Riley" of late has put on flesh, and "can't come back," as he puts it. The ex-Tukapa half is very popular -with the different provincial league players, as he was and is with Rugby Union players. Frewin has played some fine games in his time, and was a better half than he got credit if or. Putting him out of the Taranaki-" British match at the eleventh hour was an injustice. The same, year Frewin scored the only three points against Auckland at Auckland which won the match for Taranaki. "Riley" was carried off the field shoulder high by Taranaki supporters, followed by about 300 bluejackets, who were also barracking for Taranaki. Anyone now wanting a football yarn with "Riley" will have to wade up the Waiwakaiho river, where "Riley" will be found with rod and reel. THE ASSOCIATION GAME. NEW PLYMOUTH 4 v. STRATFORD 1.
