&From Our Own Correspondent). We have had a visit this week; from Miss Grimley, an 1.0. G.T. lecturer and organiser from England. She addressed meetings in the Druids' .Hall on Saturday, Sunday ami Monday evenings. A strong working committee is being formed in order to work the town in the interests of "no-license" during the forthcoming election. On Wednesday, ait the English Qkurch, the wedding of Mr. W. Haylock, of the Tariki road, and Miss Jessie Bracegirdle. of Ivaimata, was solemnised. Mr. Carrington has started busines* as auctioneer in Inglewood. The hockey match (cup final) between Stratford and Inglewood was played hero I yesterday afternoon, and resulted in a draw, two. goals each. Two minutes J extra .play left the scores unaltered. The farmers were much in evidence on Monday last, the directors of the Moa Dairy Co. meeting butter.buyers on that day, but nothing definite was done. The funeral of the late,. Mrs. Herman took place on Wednesday. Among a large number of followers to the graveside were a patrol of the local troop of Boy Scouts. The deceased lady's son being n Scout, his comrades turned out in uniform. Mr. Carrington. who has worked so hard and so well in connection with the Scout movement here, has been compelled to resign his position as Scout-master owing to pressure of business. Mr. W. H. Humphrey is stepping into his place with the troop. The boys are working hard to get up a concert.to raise funds for various schemes that they have in mind.
