It is understood, that the defence authorities have received instructions from Wellington not to proceed for the time being with any further prosecutions of those who have failed to register in accordance with the terms of the new Defence Act. CAPSIZED IN COLLISION. Auckland, Midnight. The Northern Co.'s steamer Wakatere ran into the scow Huia in the Waiheka Passage at about 8 p.m. The scow was seriously damaged and capsized. The crew were taken on board the steamer without «ny trouble. The steamer is undamaged.
