WATERSIDE WORKERS' DISPUTE
THE NEW PLYMOUTH CASE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The New Plymouth waterside workers' dispute was mutually considered in conference, with Mr. Hally «s, chairman, to whom was referred all points not agreed to in conference. The parties cited were the Union Steam Ship Co.', Northern Steamship Co., Blackball Coal and Shipping Co., Maoriland Co., and New Plymouth Harbor Board. The hours of labor agreed to were those ordinarily worked by waterside workers throughout the Dominion. The wages are: Handling cargo, ordinary time Is 6d per hour; overtime, handling ordinary cargo 2s 3d; coal 2s (id; frozen produce 2s (id. An agreement was oomc to regarding holidays, meal hours, engagements, and preference. The agreement applies only to the port of New Plymouth.
