FIRES.

A HALL DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Yesterday. The old Volunteer Hall at Mosgiel, together with a fruit store occupied by Mrs. Smith, were destroyed by fire on Sunday mornin. The store, which belonged to Hitchon, of Milton, was insured for £3OO in the New Zealand Office. the furniture for £2OO in the Victoria Office, and the fittings for £SO in the Victoria Office. The hall contents, owned by Thomas Fogg, were insured in the Northern Office for £SOO. A HOUSE GUTTED. Hastings, Yesterday. A six-roomed house between Longlands and Pakipaki, owned and occupied by A. J. White, was totally destroyed by fire about one o'clock this morning. Mr. and Mrs. White were awakened to find the place in flames. The insurances were: On the house £4OO in the National Office, and on tha furniture £250 in the Atlas Office. Nothing >vas saved.
