MOKAU TO TAUPO. By Telegrapk—Press Association. Wairakei, Monday. A large and enthusiastic meeting was held at Taupo on Saturday evening to discuss the proposed extension of the Taupo Totara Timber Company's railway from Mokau via Wairakei to Taupo. It was unanimously resolved to form a dißi trict railway league, and an executive committee was formed and pledged to support the company's project. It was decided to immediately telegraph to Mr. Macdonald, M.P., member for the district, protesting against the action ot the Rotorua Chamber of Commerce in opposing the completion of the line, which would open ltp a large area of unoccupied lands, and give access to a fine spa.
