FATAL LYDDITE EXPLOSION

CAUSED BY THE HEAT. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. London, August 20. The heat affected a lyddite shell in the magazine at Portland and caused it to explode. Two thousand pounds' worth of shells were destroyed.

Six persons were killed by the explosion.
