POULTRY LECTURE

(Cock-o'-the-North.) A public lecture will be delivered by Mr. F. E. A. Gordon, of Waita.ro, utility poultry expert, to-morrow night. Thi» in in connection with a movement which is on foot to form a class (or course of lectures) on poultry culture iby Sir. J. Heatley, the technical organiser for the Taranaki Education Board, which will bn under the tuition of Mr. Gordon. All persons interested in •profitable poultry culture should endeavor to attend the lecture on Wednesday night, aa handled on right lines there is no reason why the poultry industry should not eventually form as important a branch of agriculture as dairying, 'being far more eongenial -work and every whit as profitable, to put it in a very mild form. tn America this industry has reached the tremendous total of over £120,000,000 per annum, and this for ordinary eggs and poultry for consumption and manufacture onlv. There is not just cause why this should not lie proportionately large in this Dominion, and I predict that in the near future poultry culture will eclipse most other branches of farming as it has done in America. Once more T urge readers to attend, and I think I am safe in saying that if you are interested in this branch of farming you will be glad you came.
