Chief Officer Woods left to seek assistance on the high seas. His bout was threatened to be swamped by a steamer which passed close on Sunday but failed to see them. The boat was eventually rescued 350 miles from the wreck. The occupants were greatly exhausted. They had five ounces' of water daily for five days, and the heat was intense. Another two (lays, and all would have been dead.
