Mr. Willis, explaining the acceptance of the Speakership, stated that he would act only on the understanding that no party matters were introduced. THE COBAR SEAT. Sydney, August 18. The Government meets the House on Wednesday. It is expected that Mr. Macdonnell will be re-elected unopposed for Cobar. This will give a Government majority of one. [Mr. Macdonnell, the Chief Secretary and Minister for Agriculture, has been ill, and owing to the fact that, through an oversight, leave of absence for him was not obtained, his seat became vacant.]
