N.S.W. BY-ELECTION
EXCITEMENT IN NEW SOUTH WALES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received (16, 12.55 a.m. Sydney, August 18. There is tremendous excitement over the by-elections, and although the totals to hand almost equal the numbers at the general elections, it is impossible to say whether either candidate in either electorate will have a material advantage. In each case Labor has a slight lead —Liverpool Plains by 61, and Mudgee by 140. The positions can easily be reversed.
