SUPREME COURT.
PALMERSTON SESSIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston N., Last Night. Before the Chief Justice (Sir Bobert Stout) to-day Edward George Hansen was sentenced to one year's imprisonment and four years' reformatory treatment for stealing a horse, bridle and saddle at Huntervil'le, the sentence to be concurrent with that for horse stealing at Motorinui imposed yesterday. In the Dannevirke case, in which Francis Haselden sued Andrew Johnson for the return of £IOO deposit on an exchange which was not completed, Norman Gurr stated that he had expected to receive 2'/ 2 per cent, commission from both parties in accordance with the Chamber of Commerce rule. Sir R. Stout said he had never heard of 2% per c<sit. for each party in the South Island. Counsel said it liaul been legally recovered in these courts. Judgment was reserved.
WELLINGTON SESSIONS. Wellington, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day George Ferminger, a married man, was acquitted on a charge of indecency. DUNEDIN SESSIONS. ' Dunedin. Last Night. The criminal .sittings of the Supreme Court were concluded to-dnv. Richard Moore Junior was charged l with the theft of seven steers, valued at £7. He was acquitted after the jury had deliberated at length. Donald Owens was charged with false pretences, the sum involved being £2 Ifis 4d. He was found guilty and sentenced to reformative treatment for a period not exceeding three years. Oscar Anderson, alias Chas. Olsen, wns convicted on a charge of theft of £lO from a dwelling, and sentenced to reformative treatment for a period not exceeding three years.
