HON. T. MACKENZIE
A HIGH TRIBUTE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At the A. and P. Associations' Conference to-<ky, Mr. A. S. Orbcll, in his presidential address, made reference to the fact that the Taieri seat had been selected by the Boundary Commissioners as the one to go. Mr. 04>el) said that as an Otago man, he could only say lie was certain tha.t intense feeling of regret would be f-elt throughout the whole of Otago when the people of that province rend in the previous day's papers that Mr, Mackenzie's electorate had been Wiped out. Addressing Mr. Mackenzie, he continued: "Should you decide to woo another electorate, I am sure the farming community in both islands will wish you success. They recognise the good work you have done in your department while Minister in charge. If it should be, on the other hand, that you would like a holiday from the worries of the platform, I should like to suggest to the powers that be that if they wisih to make an appointment that would be extremely popular with the farmers throughout the Dominion, they need not go past the Hon. T. Mackenzie to fill the position of High Commissioner."
