PETROLEUM NEWS
LETTER I'ROM MR. HENRY. P>y the mail from London yesterday Messrs. SVatkins and Fox received a long letter from Mr. J. D. Henry, who said that hj« was expecting Mr. Carter in London three days after' the date of his letter. Everything was practically in readiness for Mr. Carter on his arrival, hut Mr. Henry says no attempt will be made to launch the new company until the book he is publishing on the New Zealand oilfields is ready for issue, and this he expects to be about the end of August. This will have the effect of arousing more widespread interest in New Zealand as a prospective oilfield, and so pave the way for the flotation of a big company. At the time of writing London vras still given up in a great measure to Coronation festivities, but Mr. Henry and his staff were exceedingly preparing for this flotation, and he writes very confidently about its success and about the future of Taranaki and New Plymouth particularly. It will be seen, however, that we need not expect to hear much definite news for two or three weeks yet, especially as at this time of the year the financial world of London is accustomed to take its annual holidays.
