A DUKE ATTACKED
FOR OWNING SLUMS. By Cable—Press- Association—Copyright. London, August 7. Baron de Forest, who was elected as member for West Ilam last month, in a speech at Dunstable, asserted that the Duke ot Bedford, while posing as a generous country landlord, possessed vast slums in' London, where tenants were living in misery and squalor. The Duke of Bedford denies this, and challenges Baron de Forest to renew his statement in a manner affording a chance of legal proceedings.
