Three candidates, however, are definitely announced. They are \ J. D. Hall (Opposition), L. M. laitt (Independent), L. R. Wilson (Socialist). So far no Government candidate is announced. SPEECH BY THE REV. L. M. ISITT. - Christchurch, Last Night. - At a meeting of the Labor Representation Committee to-night the Rev. L. M. Isitt, a candidate for the Christchurch North seat, was present, and briefly addressed the meeting, outlining his political platform. He answered questions, and was accorded a vote of thanks. After he left the committee discussed the question of contesting the seat, and it was unanimously decided to take no action in connection with the by-election. This means that members of the Labor Party have a free hand. The committee decided to run a candidate for the seat on the City Council rendered vacant by the election of Councillor J. J. Dusall as Mayor.
