ENTERTAINMENTS.
ROYAL PICTURES. Another batch of new pictures will be presented by the Jloyal Pictures and Orchestra at the "Sweets" matinee this a/fternoon and evening. The Coronation •procession and "Lyons Mail" will also be repeated for tihe last time in New Plymouth. The new subjects include "Napl'es to Vesivius," a most beautifully colored study of this well-known port of beauty and a gorgeously colored scene of Vesuvius in eruption. Other colored films are "Abacca (Manila hemp) Industry in the Island of Oeiba, Philippines,' and "Elephant Racing at Perak," the latter .being n quaint event that should interest all. The new dramatic subjects are "The Spoiler" and "The Rev. Joihn Wright from Missouri,' whilst the comic element will be provided by "The Runaway Motor-oar,'.' "A Music Hall Artist's Deflmt," and "A Student in Love," soine truly humorous Subjects. .On Monday next no pictures will be shown at the Theatre Royal,,but on, Tuesday Messrs, Crust and Gjedst'ed will present four thousand feet of Coronation pictures, including *7jondon transformed," "Preparing for tiho Coronation," "Colonial Troops' visit to St. Paul's," "The Regalia," "The Procession entering Westminster Abbey." "The Royal Procession passing through Admiralty Arch," and arrival at Westminster Abbey, "Passing through Pall Mall," "Queen Alexandra's Guest," "View of the Procession passing Piccadilly," and "The Coronation Review at Newtjon Park, Wellington, and the illuminations." This series of pictures are said to 'bo most complete in tihe Dominion, maniy of which arc exclusive soemea On Monday next Messrs. Crust and Gjedsted will visit Waitara for the tlird time;' atid will submit the alwvc excellent programme for one night only.
SAUNDERS' PICTURES. •Floor and gallery of Whiteley Hall were crowded to their full holding capacity last night to view the prevailing programme of pictures, the most notable being the superb Coronation film and the wonderfully vivid "Lyons Madl' picture tragedy. Besides these excellent pictures there is a numerous selection of fine subjects which range fpom grave to gay, from lively to scenic. ft : is noted that many people have the Whiteley Hall picture habit, and many select the same night of each week for their entertainment and education. A complete change of programme will be on view at the Coronation Matinee this afternoon, and again at 8 o'clock The superb Coronation fllm will be included in the new series, also "Thelma," ' a dramatisation of Marie Oorelli's famous-novel Other star numbers are: "Across the Plains," "Redeemed Criminal," and a screaming comedy by the popular Vitagr.iph Co., "A Bridegroom's Dilemma," or "A Pair of Pants." A fine film shows the full ceremony of "Investiture of the Prince of . Wales, June 10," and a sporting scene reproduces "Ski Championships, Norway." Other interesting pictures arc: "Fireworks for Coronation," "Copper Industry in Spain," "Region of Ararat." Amongst the comics are: "Unexpected Review," "When the Cat's away," and' "Tommy's Cheap Clothes." This series will (be repeated again on Monday and Tuesday. On Tuesday the Coronation film will be shown at Inglewood.
