"JACK AND THE BEANSTALK." Of the principals who will interpret "Jack and the Beanstalk," Mr. J. C. Williamson's fifth annual pantomimic extravaganza, on Monday next, Mr. Jack Cannot is said to be extremely diverting. as "Dame Trot." Endowed with a pleasing natural style and a good baritone voice, this artist is said to give a deliciously funny performance. The dry humor of Mr. Rupert Darrell is said to be well adapted to the role of "King Stoneybrokish."' ' Mr. Victor: : "Loyo*ali;i an old favorite, appears as "Miwins," the page, and the waiter in the screaming restaurant scene. That admirable of animal comedians, Mr. William Hassan, is first seen as a cow and afterwards as a horse. The motor-car act, in which Dame Trot, the King ana tjieborie participate, is claimed to be mirth-pro-voking in the extreme, and reduces the house to helpless hysteria. Two'other favorite comedians, Mr. Bert Watson and Mr. Clive Cook, are well castas Giant Blundcrbore's ; myrmidons. Miss Mabelle Morgan, who has returned after an absence of four years, is reputed tobe a particularly handsome, and dashing "Jack," Miss Dorothy Firmin, a dainty and piquant "Princess," and Miss Marie Eaton an excellent "Fairy Queen." Tie" scenery includes, we understand, .several superb sets, such as the "Fair Ground of Arcadee," the "Growth of the Beanstalk," the "Golden Gates-of Cloudland," the "Giant's Castle," etc.. The production is in the hands of Mr. J. C. Whitfield. The music will be under the direction of Mr. Fred Quintrell, who has been associated in the some position with the five J. C. Williamson, pantomimes, lhe famous Pantzer troupe may be expected to show some very extraordinary feats in up-to-date acrobatics. All these are imported artists and were engaged personally by Mr. Williamson when in England recently, also including the famous American vaudeville artists, the ?t 0h f I t y o! 1 \ tors ' known tl > r °"ghout the United States as "The Ginger Girls" The panto, of 1911 has been dubbed the best ever," and it would appear, judging by contemporary opinions, that the sobriquet is applicable.
