CHRISTCHURCH NORTH SEAT
THE ROLLS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The returning officer has been very busy to-day receiving applications for enrolment for the Christchuroh North electoral roll. The old roll has on it 7925 names, and it k anticipated that * the supplementary roll already contains about 2300 names. MR. HALL'S CANDIDATURE. Chrwtchureh, Last Night. A meeting of the supporters of Mt. J. D. Hall, candidate for the Ohristohurch North seat, was held to-night, and briefly addressed by .the candidate, who stated he was in favor of financial reform, closer settlement of lands of the Dominion, settlers being pot on under leasehold system with option of freehold. He also favored a civil service board to control appointments to the civil service, the settlement of native lands, compulsory military training, and a eommis- • sion to inquire into industrial mattero. A motion was passed expressing the meeting's confidence in Mr. Hall, and pledging to do its utmost to secure hi# return. An executive and other committees were set uip.
