THE LIBERALS UNITED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, August 2. As the result of a Liberal conference, Mr. Wade claims that his party is again thoroughly reunited. ANOTHER VACANCY. Sydney, August 2. A third by-election is necessary, owing to the illness of Mr. Macdonell, member for Cobar, who was unable to attend the House last session. Through an Dversight no leave of absence was obtained for him. The seat is therefore vacant. THE THIRD PARTY. Sydney, August 2. Mr. Storey has pledged the third party to work body and soul for the Liberals. Mr. Wade has appealed to Liberals in the Assembly to refuse to accept the Speakership, which would rob the Party of a vote. , TROUBLES OF A PARTY. Received 2, 9.20 p.m. Sydney, August 2. The Liberals had a sample of Labor's troublous times, when Mr. J. Miller placed his resignation in Mr. Wade's hands, owing to Mr. Wade stating that Mr. Miller had not "played the game" in voting for the second reading of the Hon. G. S. Beeby's Industrial Bill. Explanations followed, and the resignation went no further. Mr. Macdonnell has been nominated for the vacancy at Cobar caused through his absence from Parliament. STRAIGHT-OUT CONTESTS. Received 2, 11 p.m. Sydney, August 2. The contests for Mudgee and Liverpool Plains will be fought straight-out between the Liberal and Labor parties. 1
