MIDHIRRT. (From Our Own Correspondent). The measles are very prevalent in this district just now. The Midhirst and Denbigh road schools have been closed for three weeks on this account. Last Monday the Midhirst Dairy Co. held their sixteenth annual meeting. Mr. A. Brown, chairman of directors, presided, and about 200 shareholders were present. In Mb address, Mr. Brown mentioned the fact that seven years ago the output was about 290 tons and this year it was 568 tons. It was also proposed to open two new creameries—one at Tariki and the other at Waingongoro. An election for four positions on the,dir?etorate, three vacated by rotation and one by tlie resignation of Mr. Hathaway, resulted in the return of Messrs Browi., Rogers, Uhlenberg and Jago. Mr. A. Brown was re-elected chairman, and Mr. T. H. Penn was reelected auditor.
