Saunders, who is leaving next week for her home in Otautaii, Otago. The function took the form of a euchre party, and the prizes were won by Miss Brewster (first) and Miss Hanna (second). The hostess received her guests in a cream cloth costume, dainty silk and lace blouse. A benefit night in aid of the widow and family of the late Mr. James Way was given last Tuesday evening in the Theatre Royal, and the picture pro-, gramme, which was submitted to a| crowded house, was simply splendid. The pictures were manipulated almost without a flicker, which brings out a realistic clearness. At this benefit Mr. Paton (chairman of the Fire Board) made a suitable speech, thanking the Messrs. Crust & Gjedsted for thoirj generosity. Amongst those present' were: Mrs. Home, Miss Leatham, Miss Mathews. Mrs. Heard. Miss Fitzgerald, Mrs. Gilmour, Mrs. Freeth, Mrs. Quilliam. Mrs. Hall.
