Mr. John Bowron, examined before the Bankruptcy Court, said that the failure of his firm was due to a loss of £IOO,OOO owing to a rise in the price of raw materials in the autumn of 1907. The balance - sheet of 1900 showed a deficiency of £IOOO, and by 1000 the deficiency was £125,800. Bowron Bros., of New Zealand, forgave debts to the extent, of £78,000 between the years 1005 and 1907.
