MINISTER AND ACTING-MAYOR
COUNCIL'S RESENTMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The City Council to-night resolved that the members of this council consider the action of the Minister "of Public Works in refusing to allow the ActingMayor of Wellington (as chairman oi a deputation of delegates representing various centres of New Zealand) to speak on the proposed tramway regulations, and his threat a,s Minister of the Crown to ejcot him from the room was an unwarrantable and unjustifiable insult to the deputation and also to the citizens of Wellington; that the council begs to assure the acting-Mayor that the insolence, of Minister has not in any way shaken the confidence of the council or of the citizens of Wellington in his honor, integrity and capacity as acting-Mayor, and that a reply of this resolution be sent to the Acting-Prime Minister.
