A young man, aged 23 years, was sued at Christchureh for the price of a bicycle. His plea was infancy, inasmuch as when he bought the machine he was a few months under twenty-one. The magistrate expressed no sympathy with the plea set up, and said lie did not believe in the morality of young fellows getting goods on credit and then raising the plea put forward in the present case. Defendant further alleged that he had been over-persuaded by the dealer to purchase the machine, and he only had it three months in his possession when it was stolen. "Yes," replied the magistrate, "and the seller has now to bear the loss."
