The Diwuidtn Presbytery again addressed itself to-day to the problem of tlie attitude it should assume towardw the Government's scheme of compulsory military training. A motion calling oil tlhe people to cheerfully acquiesce in the (hmindsi of the Defence Act was defeated, and an amendment simply stating it to be the duty of the people to obey tlhe law of the land was similarly treated. The motion that was finally passed by ten votes to seven was one stating that the Presbytery did not deem it expedient to- express" any .approval of the; Government's scheme. Fives ministers asked that their names W rwcorded us dissenting from" tie decision.
