A CYCLING FATALITY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Chrisitchurch, La*t Night. John, Richard Sopcr, a plasterer, aged 44, was killed this morning whilw cycling to town from his home at St. Album's road. The road was slippery witlh frost, and in turning a corner, Soper's machine side-slipped, and his head struck the ground violently, the skull being fractured. At the comer where the fatality occurred the road is banked up to take the curve of the tram-line. Soper was cycling on the outside of the slope of the road. At the inquest the medical testimony was to the effect that death was due to shock following concussion from the fall, and it was probable that deceased's heart was weak. A verdict was found accordingly.

A BODY FOUND. Dunedin, Tuesday. The body of a man named Jackson, apparently between 40 and 50 years of age, was found last night in a house in King street, which he rented. It is believed that deceased was- employed on one of the Peninsula farms. A SHOOTING ACCIDENT. Te Kuiti, Tuesday. Sid Devereaux, a bushman,' aged 2? yeans, went pig shooting on Sunday, at Puketiti. When lifting his gun from the ground by the barrel, the gun went off, discharging the contents into his right lung, seriously injuring him. Bearer parties conveyed him from 4 o'clock on Sunday till they reached the road at 7 a.m. on Monday. The injured man was afterwards conveyed to Te Kuiti in a gig, over terrible roads, reaching here at 5 p.m. on Monday. He was taken to the Waikato Hospital, where he is lying in a low state.
