Tin; Colonial Express leaped an embankment when it struck a locked switch while travelling at sixty miles an hour, and live Pullman day coaches and the baggage ear crashed towards the street. Twelve were killed and forty-four injured. King, a young machinist, was driven insane by the accident, although he was uninjured. The train was late, and the engineer was endeavoring to make up lost time. The day coach was smashed to matchwood. Everyone on the train was either killed or injured.
