HON. RODERICK McKKXZIK SPEAKS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Nelson, bist Night. The Hon. R. McKenzie, Mini ster for Public Works. delivered a political address at Wakefield to-nighl, in reply to the speeches of Mr. Massev and other Oppositionists, lie dealt at. length with taxation, finance and borrowing, mainly oil the lines of speeches by Sir James OarrSll. He read a return prepared by the Customs Department showing that remissions of taxation totalling £5,322,048 had been made during the twenty years of the Liberal regime. He dealt exhaustively witli the public works policy. A vote of thanks and confidence was accorded the speaker.
