ITALIAN CATHEDRAL BURNED. Rome, July 11. The fine cathedral at Concersano has been burned. BIRD PROTECTION CRUSADE. London, July 11. The Society for the Protection of Birda is employing sandwichmen in Regent street displaying photographs ol a New South Wales egret rookery and the cruelties attendant on the collection of feathers.
A STEAMER FATALITY. Berlin, July 11. The German steamer Elbing VIII. capsized in the North Sea, and, excepting three, all of the crew were drowned. THE LOS ANGELES OUTRAGE. New York, July 11. At Los Angeles new indictments were asked for against those charged with dynamiting the Hall of Records building, since the former indictments were quashed on a technicality. RAILWAY WORKERS' STRIKE. London, July 11. Forty-five laborers employed in the construction of the Western Railway have struck for an increase of wages from 9s to 10s per day.
