Mr. Balfn<ir said the most-favored nation treaties were g.rng to cause incomparable trouble to th ■ British Foreign Office. Their abrogation would make the British free trade policy totally impossible. The statesmen of our great dominions had begun to realise hqw extraordinarily they hampered them.
