MOTOR RACE.

AN ANGLO-GERMAN CONTEST. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. London, July 10. The competitors in the Anglo-German motoring tour, headed by Prince Henry of Prussia, drove from Southampton to Oxford, proceeding thence to Leamington.

The motor car tour is organised by the Koval Automobile Club of Great Britain and the Imperial Automobile Club of Germany, for a cup presented : by Prince Henry of Prussia. The route is from Hamburg to Bremerliaven. thence by steamer to Southampton. The route through England is from Southampton to Leamington. I-eamington to Harrogate. Harrogate to Newcnstle-on-Tyne. Newcastlc-on-Tvne to Edinburgh. Edinburgh to Windermere, 'Windermere to Shrewsbury, Shrewsbury to Cheltenham, and Cheltenham to London. There are 37 German and 28 British competitors, running as two teams. The club whose team has lost the smallest number of marks will he the winner. The objeat is to combine pleasure with a practical test of the touring qualities of each car. Prince Henry of Prussia drove the first car on the departure from Hamburg. and the Duke of Connaught's car was also in the competition.
