MR MASSEY AND MR TAYLOR
MUCH ADO ABOUT LITTLE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christehurch, Last Night. Mr. Massey, leader of the Opposition, arrived from Wellington this morning. In conversation with a. reporter, Mr. M&ssey spoke confidently of the prospects of the Opposition party at the polls in the North Island. Referring to the meeting addressed bv him in Wellington on Thursday night, Mr. Massev said it was one of the largest and most successful that he had ever addressed. Mr. Massev courteously declined to lie interviewed on the subject of his difference with Mr. Taylor, M.P. Ashed whether Mr. Taylor would he asked to preside at his meeting on Tuesday night in view of recent happenings, Mr. Massev said that the matter had nothing to do with him. Tt was in the hands of his committee. The committee had very properly aslted the Mayor to preside as Mayor, and it had nothing to do with the squabbles of two members of Parliament.. Mr. Massey was then asked it on Tuesday evening he would deal with the question raised by Mr. Taylor. Mr, Massev intimated that ho did not desii'e to reply to the question.
