CHRISTCHURCH FOOD SUPPLY
MR. TAYLOR TILTS AT AUCKLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. Chratchurchi Last Night. The Mayor, accompanied by the city's chief inspector, has just completed a series of unannounced visits to diningrooms and kitchens of establishments where the city food supply is prepared or retailed. He found all satisfactory save one, but the exception did not affect the wholesomeness of the food. The Mayor, in reporting the result, said: "I don't want to gloat Over the unhealthy condition of things that exists in Auckland. I have always regarded Auckland as one of the most beautiful cities in New Zealand, and also one of the most untidy. The persistence; with •which the plague clings to Auckland suggests that in addition to being beautiful and untidy, it is shockingly unclean. It is due to the Dominion that Auckland should remove the reproach that now rests upon it as being a place where visitors can have no feeling 01 security that they are not being poisoned while they aire being fed."
