The Auckland Canary and Cage Birds' Chili's annual show was opened this afternoon by Mr. Arthur Myers. M.P. Crested birds were noticeably good, Mr. W. A. Hanson winning the North Island championship for the best crested canary, and the cup for the best Norwich color fed bird. Tilie birds were of ail exceptionally good class, most of 'Jia prizes being won by Mr. J. Cornwall. The Cinnamons were the best shown for years, whilst the plain head Norwiches were excellent, Mr. Jones' clear buff winning the North Island championship. THE TRISH ENVOIS. Invercargill, Last Night. Mr. Hazlcton, M.P., Irish delegate, arrived to-day and was given a civic welcome and presented with an address. He spoke to a large, and enthusiastic meeting this evening, f;he Mayor presiding. A sum of .-CISO was collected, and the meeting unanimously agreed to a motion in sympathy with the Home Rule Party's aims. A GENUINE HAIR GROWER. Take % drain of Menthol Crystals , and put them into a bottle containing 3 oz. of Bay Rum amd see that tliey are ' entirely dissolved; then add 1 oz. of Lavorna de Oomposee, and, if desired, one teaspoonful of To-Kalon perfume. Shake well, and let it stand for half-an-hour, when it will be rcadv for use. Other readers will doubtless be glad to try this remodv which our correspondent has sent. We undemstand that the ingredients may be obtained from any chemist. CAUTION.—As "thia is doubtless a remarkable hair grower, it should be applied only where hair is desired.
