NEW TYPE OF WARSHIP.
OTE BETTER THAN THE DREADNOUGHT. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright London, July 5. The Pall Mall Gazette has high authority tor stating that the director of naval construction contemplates the abandonment of the Dreadnought type of warship, but the new type is kept a close secret. It is believed that it approximates to the Lord Nelson type. Its displacement will be 17,000 tons, and it will be suitable for shallow water. The primary armament will be six 15-inch guns, and it will have an anti-torpedo armament. Many experts arc opposed to putting al! the eggs into one basket.
