TARANAKI WINTER MEETING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Hawera, Last Night. The Taranaki Coursing Club commenced its winter meeting to-day. The coursing on the whole was exceptionally good. Results:— Maiden Stake.—First round: Glen Ossipoff beat Simplex, C to 3; Ashley Brook beat Count Menschikoff, 4 to 3; Royal Flush beat Ellcrslic, 3 to 1; Heperi beat Speed, 6 to 4; Biddy beat British Grenadier, 12 to 8; Full Sail beat beat Swift Spotty, 9 to 4; Lamplight beat Lady Twist, 6 to 0; Nightshade beat Itin'g Master, 4 to 3; Zinnia beat Peggy Pride, 16 to 10; Victoria beat The Native, 4 to 2; Cumbersome beat Nightshift, 4 to 3; Twilight beat Black Speck, 7 to 1. Second Round: Ashley Brook beat Glen Ossipoll', 7 to 4; Royal Flush beat Ileperi, 4 to 2; Full Sail beat Biddy, 5 to 3; Lamplight beat Nightshade, 7 to .3; Victoria beat Zinnia, 15 to 13; Twilight beat Cumbersome, 11 to 7. Third Round: Ashley Brook beat Royal Flush, 14 to 13; Full Sail and' Victoria scored 12 each; Lamplight beat Twilight, 5 to 0; Victoria beat Full Sail, fl to 4. The finals between Ashley Brook, Victoria, and Lamplight will be run tomorrow.
