GAS EXPLOSION.

A PEGU LI AH OCCURRENCE. By Telcgraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. As two men named Ridley and King were passing the weigh-bridge shed, near Turanaki street wharf, this evening they smelt gas. Getting into the shed one of them struck a match. The result was an explosion, which sent tkem hurling back on to the wharf, knocked over a horse and cart, and set fire to the building. Both men were rather badly burned about the face, but not injured seriously. The fire was put out by the fire brigade.
