IMPERIAL UNITY.
A MISSION'S POLICY. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright London, July 2. A meeting under the auspices of the Imperial Mission, Mr. Croft, M.P., presiding, gave its approval to the mission's policy of promoting Imperial unity by emphasising to the people of the Empire the benefits of solidarity in commerce and defence, the importance of increasing the production of food within the Empire, also the desirability of directing the current of emigration towards the oversea Dominions.
Sir .T. Quick emphasised that there was a combination of forces independent of kinship and sentiment assisting to keep the Empire together. The peoples of the Empire should know that in harmony with their mutual interests and well-being there should be continuity of the Empire. He believed in preferential trade within the Empire. Many M's ,P. and oversea visitors were present.
