EARTHQUAKE IN CALIFORNIA.
GENERAL CONSTERNATION. By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright New York, July 2. Several earthquakes occurred in Central California and Western Nevada. Trivial damage was done. A panic seized the citizens of San Francisco and Santa Rosa, who made a pell inell rush from large buildings. Sail Fran-
riseo telephone and telegraph operators fled from their posts, and the. services were suspended until they realised that the danger was past. An inmate of a lodging-house fell dead from fright. A judge, jury and attorneys, sitting in the State Court at Carson City, fled from the courthouse, fearing it might collapse. Reno also experienced the shock.
