TRAIN HELD UP.
ROBBERS SHOOT FREELY. ONE MAN KILLED. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright. Received 2, 5,5 p.m. New York, July 1. The Lake Erie mail train was held up by twelve armed masked men. The mail and express cars-were rifled, and the mail clerk and conductor were both shot, the former fatally. Telegraph poles were tied across the track, and stopped the train. Many passengers alighted, thinking a collision had occurred, but stampeded aboard when the robbers fired upon them.
